Dubai's new place among Europe's leading clubs

Dubai Basketball have quickly become one of the competition's most closely watched teams. Their squad has been assembled with significant EuroLeague experience, and they opened the 2026/27 campaign by defeating Real Madrid.

That makes their first visit of the season to Milan particularly interesting. Olimpia will have little recovery time between two very different opponents, putting squad depth and rotation at the centre of the week.

Milan enter the season under Peppe Poeta after winning all three major domestic trophies in 2025/26. Marko Guduric, Darius Thompson, Leandro Bolmaro, Alec Peters and Devin Booker are among the experienced options available to the Italian champions.

EuroLeague basketball in Milan

For international visitors, Olimpia home games offer an opportunity to see elite European basketball while staying in Milan. The Unipol Forum is located in Assago, south of the city centre, and has hosted many of the club's biggest European fixtures.

Dubai's emergence adds a newer rivalry to a calendar traditionally dominated by established EuroLeague names. With the teams meeting at an early stage of the regular season, the match also offers an early indication of how both squads are developing.
