PalaLido Reborn
The original PalaLido opened in Piazzale Stuparich in 1961, quickly establishing itself as one of Milan's signature indoor sports temples. It hosted Olimpia Milano's 1961/62 scudetto winning campaign and the club's extraordinary three straight Italian titles from 1965 to 1967, crowned by the 1966 European Cup. By 2010 the building no longer met modern safety standards and was closed; demolition followed in 2012, and a complete reconstruction designed by TECO + partners began in 2011.
The new arena reopened in June 2019 under the sponsorship name Allianz Cloud, with a redesigned shell, modern hospitality and a fresh seating bowl pushing capacity to 5,420 for sport. Olimpia Milano returned to the rebuilt arena for the 2025-26 season while the Mediolanum Forum is requisitioned for Milano-Cortina 2026, opening on 16 December 2025 with an 89-82 Euroleague win over Real Madrid. Boxing, futsal, gymnastics and indoor concerts complete the modern programme.
