Inaugurated on 17 May 1953 — though begun a quarter-century earlier — the Stadio Olimpico is the second-largest stadium in Italy after San Siro, with a capacity of 72,698. Its honours include the 1960 Olympics, the 1990 FIFA World Cup final, the 1980 and 2020 European Championship finals and four UEFA Champions League finals.
The Olimpico is shared home to AS Roma and SS Lazio (and host of their Derby della Capitale) and the venue for Italy's Six Nations rugby home matches: Italy – Ireland and Italy – France in 2027. Summer brings stadium-scale Italian concerts including Eros Ramazzotti and Ligabue.
Reach the stadium via Metro A to Ottaviano or Flaminio then tram 2 to Piazza Mancini, or by bus lines 32, 69, 220, 280 and 910. The biggest nights sell out months in advance.
