Atalanta's Club-Owned Stadium
The New Balance Arena is the home stadium of Atalanta BC in Bergamo. Originally inaugurated in 1928 as the Stadio Mario Brumana, the ground was renamed multiple times during the 20th century, becoming the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia after the 1990 World Cup. It is one of the very few stadiums in Italy fully owned by the football club itself, after Atalanta acquired it from the Bergamo municipality in 2017.
Between 2019 and 2024 the stadium was systematically rebuilt at a cost of more than 100 million euros, retaining its central location next to the historic city but transforming into a modern, fully covered rectangular bowl with stands close to the pitch. After Atalanta's Gewiss sponsorship expired in 2025, a new naming deal was signed with sportswear brand New Balance. With around 24,950 seats it is one of Italy's most atmospheric modern grounds and hosts Atalanta's Serie A and European fixtures.
