PalaItalia Santa Giulia is the centrepiece of the Santa Giulia redevelopment in south-east Milan, built specifically to host ice hockey at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and para ice hockey at the subsequent Paralympics. Designed by David Chipperfield Architects with engineering by Arup, the arena offers 16,000 capacity under a clean rectangular volume clad in vertical metal fins. It is operated by Eventim Live with the long-term sponsorship name Unipol Forum.
Construction ran tight against the Olympic deadline and the building was still being completed when Italy's national ice hockey championship final four was staged inside on 10-11 January 2026 as a test event. The Olympic ice hockey tournament followed in February 2026, the para ice hockey tournament in March. The venue is also positioned for a new generation of large indoor concerts in Milan, with announced 2026 dates including major international tours, complementing the Mediolanum Forum in Assago.
